UK Movie Releases - February 2019

February kicks off really well with what I'm going to say will be a criminally under watched film, Green Book. I'm also really excited for some spectacular sequels in The Lego Movie 2 and Happy Death Day 2U.

It's a month filled with some thinkers and some fun. Take a look at my highlights below.

01 February 2019

A Private War - Starring Rosamund Pike, Jamie Dornan, Tom Hollander and Stanley Tucci. Marie Colvin is a fearless war correspondent who travels from conflict to conflict giving a voice to the voiceless. Looks like it's got potential to be a very powerful movie, catch the trailer here.

Can You Ever Forgive Me? - Starring Melissa McCarthy and Richard E. Grant. An adaptation of the memoir of the same name from celebrity biographer, Lee Israel. An intriguing tale of Israel's criminal activity, certainly a very different project for Melissa McCarthy. [Trailer]

Escape Room - Starring Deborah Ann Woll and Tyler Labine. Six strangers find themselves in circumstances beyond their control, and must use their wits to survive. Another based on a game film, having just watched the trailer I don't think I'll be going in an escape room anytime soon.

★ Green Book - Starring Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali. We were treated to this as a Secret Unlimited Screening at Cineworld earlier this month. No one was expecting it, I doubt most of us had heard of it, but it was an amazing watch. Check out my full review.

How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World - Starring Toothless... and some other people I guess. Let's hope for another entertaining installment in the How To Train You Dragon franchise. However it turns out though we at least have this great video with Kit Harington.

04 February 2019

Animal Crackers - Starring Emily Blunt, Danny DeVito and John Krasinski, plus lots more. A family must use a magical box of Animal Crackers to save a run-down circus from being taken over. Fun looking animation, take a look at the trailer and see what you think.

06 February 2019

Alita: Battle Angel - Starring Rosa Salazar, Jennifer Connelly and Mahershala Ali, among other. A young woman's journey to find out who she is and her battle to change the world. I'm still annoyed about the release shift this caused, but the trailer does look good.

08 February 2019

All Is True - Starring Kenneth Branagh, Judy Dench and Ian McKellen. A look at the final days of William Shakespeare. *deep sigh* One of these things does not belong. [Trailer]

Boy Erased - Starring Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe. A preacher's son is forced to go to a conversion camp after being outed by his parents. Based on a true story, the facts at the end of the trailer shocked me, I have no doubt this will be a powerful watch.

If Beale Street Could Talk - Starring Kiki Layne, Stephan James and Regina King. A woman desperately tries to prove her fiancĂ© innocent of a crime. The trailers paint very different pictures of this film, I think this earlier one is actually more compelling than the latest, watch it on YouTube now.

On The Basis Of Sex - Starring Felicity Jones, Armie Hammer and Justin Theroux. The story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, her struggles for equal rights and what she had to overcome in order to become a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. [Trailer]

★ The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part - Starring Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and Tiffany Haddish. LEGO DUPLO are invading and wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. Oh Emmet, I love you.

14 February 2019

★ Happy Death Day 2U - Starring Jessica Roath and Israel Broussard. We're resetting people! Groundhog Day is back!

Instant Family - Starring Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne. A couple adopt three children and get more than they bargained for. I've only just seen this trailer but it looks like it's got some potential.

15 February 2019

The Kid Who Would Be King - A group of children embark on a quest after Alexander pulls the sword from the stone. "Where did you learn how to drive?!"... "Mario Kart." Those are already my favourite lines from the film. [Trailer]

22 February 2019

Cold Pursuit - Liam Neeson wants some revenge, this time in some snow. Is there really anything else to say about this one? Watch the trailer here.

Happy watching!
